KING COMPOSITE BUENOS AIRES SUCCESSFULLY MEETS ITS GREATEST CHALLENGE EVER
After one year of continuous work, KC Buenos Aires facility finished the construction of the largest Argentine-made carbon masts.
Mizzen and mainsail are 167.3 and 160.7 feet long respectively, and they will be the masts of the 172’ schooner “Doña Francisca”, designed by Javier Soto Acebal at the request of boat lover Juan Carlos Lopez Mena.
Constructing the pieces posed several challenges, from the design stage to construction planning to dispatch to Montevideo´s shipyard, where the masts will be assembled in mid-2013.

“We are dealing with a very special ship, inspired by an early 1900´s schooner but designed and built with cutting-edge technology. The whole boat is made of carbon fiber, including mast fixing devices.
