AC Day 1

Hoje foi o primeiro dia de regatas em Cascais, hoje as regatas foram realizadas com pouco vento, dos 3 aos 7 nós. Fizeram-se 3 regatas e o ambiente é fantástico, os barcos podem parecer pequenos mas na baía de Cascais estão no seu auge, sendo que a marginal está cheia a vibrar com barcos de 45 pés mesmo com 3 nós de vento a voarem todos juntos.



O Team Oracle está em boa forma com duas vitórias, para o James Spithill sendo que Russel Coutts também se encontra em excelente forma, o outro vencedor foi Terry Hutchinson da Team Artemis que também ganhou uma regata mas foi o Team New Zealand com Dean Barker ao leme que está à frente no primeiro dia deste grande evento que termina em 2013 em S. Francisco.

“Racing is very different in light winds but it’s really good that these boats can sail in this weather,” Kiwi skipper Dean Barker said. “We are happier with more wind… but with the lighter winds, all the teams leveled. The lack of wind becomes an equalizer. Today all the teams have had their opportunity, so it becomes more competitive.”
